Sported by Florence Welch, this psychedelic-tinged botanical fern was originally printed for Liberty in 1963 during the hippie-influenced paisley resurgence of the 1960s and 1970s.
Botanical Knot transports us back to Liberty's 1900s needlework BOTANICAL KNOT :- department, which sold many designs in the style of multi-talented Arts and Crafts luminary, May Morris. Inspired by her distinctive aesthetic, this botanical trellis was hand-painted in gouache and delicately overlaid with pencil marks, echoing the intricacy of her embroidery stitching.
